Wash and Care instructions
Wash & Care
Guidance for naturally dyed clothing, white garments, and abacá basketry
Naturally Dyed Clothing
Our garments are coloured using natural dyes from plants and minerals. These colours are sensitive to strong detergents, heat, and prolonged soaking.
- Hand wash in cold water with a UK-made eco detergent (e.g. Bio-D, Ecover Zero)
- Dry flat and out of direct sunlight
- Avoid bleach, citrus detergents, and fabric softeners
Prefer a machine wash? That’s okay:
- Use a delicates cycle at 30°C
- Pop garments in a laundry bag
- Use a non-bio or pH-neutral detergent
- Air dry only – never tumble dry
White & Undyed Garments
White and light garments may need more regular washing. We suggest:
- Wash at 30–40°C with similar colours
- For stains, use a soda crystal paste (mix with warm water, apply, rinse)
- Line dry in sunlight to naturally brighten
- Avoid bleach or whitening agents
Abacá Basketry
Handwoven from banana fibre. Designed to last with care:
- Keep in a dry, well-ventilated space
- Wipe gently with a dry or lightly damp cloth
- Avoid prolonged contact with moisture
- To reshape: steam lightly, mould by hand, and let dry
Thank you for extending the life of your pieces — and caring for the planet in the process.
