Ground. No.I. Ritual Candle.

An atmosphere object built around the forest floor at first light. Damp wood, soft resin, distant moss, a thread of citrus. Not a scent so much as a place to stand inside, drawn from shinrin-yoku, Japanese forest bathing, and a daily ritual of finding the nearest patch of earth to stand on barefoot.

Wood, moss and light. Built entirely from certified organic essential oils, the considered and costlier route, never synthetic fragrance. Cedarwood, frankincense, hinoki and vetiver, blended around grounding rather than perfume. Lit slowly at the end of the day, for meditation or the return to yourself, it settles the nervous system and holds a pause.

Hand poured in small batches in London. Plant wax, pure cotton wick, a printed glass vessel made for reuse. Wrapped in a reusable cotton azuma bag and a rust letterpress belly band, pressed on paper made from Uri Studio fabric offcuts, a closed loop between the two brands. The moon is hand painted by the maker and prints and design are by graphic designer Will Geeve.

I for Ground, the first in a continuing series of ritual blends, numbered like an apothecary.
